Why I Wrote This Book

I did not start off thinking I would be writing a book. I was only journaling my experience as part of a therapeutic mental exercise. No sooner had I started than I began to realize how my experience would benefit people going through similar or more challenging situations. I decided I would use my story to inspire and encourage others to hope and fight when they are faced with daunting situations. We all get used to having a full cup, but at some point, life will hand you a half-filled cup. You may choose to see the cup as half-full or half-empty, both of which are right; it is a matter of perspective. The perspective that you see your cup from will largely determine your attitude, actions and most importantly the strength you are able to generate from within. Though it was a difficult choice, I chose to see my half-filled cup as half full!

As a recipient of grace, I wanted to give back, to share my struggles, my vulnerabilities, and my successes, as well as the strategies that helped me navigate the turbulence. Very importantly, I wanted to share and proclaim the faithfulness of God. I sincerely hope that this book will inspire and help build resilience in my readers.

Rescued, more than a story!
